Pembroke Pines, Florida is a growing city located in Broward County. This south Florida city has undergone tremendous transformation since Hurricane Andrew struck south Florida back in 1992. Numerous residents from southern Miami Dade country flocked northward into Pembroke Pines to start a new life. As a result, Pembroke Pines has become one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and a vacation hub for LGBT travelers. There are many gay friendly things to do in and around the city of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Broward County has plenty of shopping venues, including large-scale malls, boutique shops, and flea market outlets. The city of Pembroke Pines itself offers a more laid back atmosphere for LGBT vacationers seeking a taste of some serious downtime. Golf lovers can go to the Grand Palms Golf & Country Club. This country club resort has three different golf courses that offer adventurous challenges to the avid golfer. The Raintree Golf Resort is another good choice, if you are seeking to test your swing. LGBT campers will also find Pembroke Pines very accommodating. The C.B. Smith Lakeside Campground has RV rental sites with full electrical and sewer accommodations. Vacationing families will enjoy the beautiful pine trees native to the region, along with a beach area, a water slide for the children, and bicycle rentals for a fun filled day out in the woods. The Paradise Cove Water Playground is another gay friendly thing to do in Pembroke Pines. Water fortresses, water cannons, slides, and tube rides all await the kids in this exciting recreational park. There are two 350-foot slides that launch riders down a hill for the thrill of a lifetime!

Although all gay hotels in Pembroke Pines are hard to come by, there are numerous gay friendly establishments that welcome everyone. Broward County has mainstream hotel chains offering gay friendly accommodations. Hotel accommodations at these well known chains include full room service, outdoor pool/patio areas, lounge areas, and free continental breakfast at most locations. Pembroke Pines also has many luxury golf resorts with adjoining hotels. Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club offers upscale gay friendly accommodations including a large swimming pool, a fitness center, a hot tub, and a jogging track, along with spa and massage therapy for the tired body. This tropical oasis golf resort is perfect for couples. It will help you unwind and get that much needed romantic downtime you have secretly desired.

Pembroke Pines also has gay friendly restaurants for the LGBT traveler. Gay friendly places to eat in Pembroke Pines include the famous Bahama Breeze restaurant. This Caribbean style restaurant is decked out in palm tree decorations, giving a tropical feeling all around. Enjoy spicy entrees such as the Chicken Santiago and over 50 different kinds of beer, along with a variety of tropical island drinks. For a taste of Italy, go to Runway 84. This gay friendly Pembroke Pines restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that includes ambient lighting and background opera. Delicious Italian plates, pasta, seafood, and steak all await you in this top-notch customer service restaurant.
